Personal Letters
Letters are getting lost in the crowd of mobile phones. Before I bought the mobile phone in 2003, all the letters that came to me did not come like this. Because, after I bought a mobile, loved ones used to talk for a minute or two from their own mobile or phone-fax shop. That might have satisfied the need, but would there be any evidence of what was being talked about?
Of course not. Today, a saying must be accepted that "Science has given momentum but taken away emotion." Is not really so? The emotion or feeling of writing or reading a letter, can you get it if you talk for hours on the mobile phone?
Nowadays, I don't think anyone writes personal letters. However, I realized this only in 2003 when I saw that the number of personal letters was decreasing day by day. So I was collecting some letters to show to future generations. But after keeping it for a long time, I saw that it was slowly deteriorating. So I converted it to 'digital format' and made it open for everyone. Any comments after reading the letter would be appreciated.

মোবাইল এর ভিড়ে হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে চিঠি। ২০০৩ সালে মোবাইল কেনার পূর্ব পর্যন্ত আমার নিকট যত চিঠি এসেছে পরে আর এরুপ আসেনি। কারন, আমি মোবাইল কেনার পর প্রিয়জনরা তাদের নিজের মোবাইল অথবা ফোন-ফ্যাক্স এর দোকান থেকে দু-এক মিনিট কথা বলত। তাতে হয়তো প্রয়োজন মিটত, কিন্তু কি বিষয়ে কথা হচ্ছে তার কি কোন প্রমান থাকত সেখানে?
অবশ্যই না। বর্তমানে একটি কথা মানতেই হবে যে "বিজ্ঞান দিয়েছে বেগ কিন্তু কেড়ে নিয়েছে আবেগ।" আসলে তাই নয় কি? চিঠি লিখতে বা পড়তে যে আবেগ বা অনুভতি, তা কি মোবাইলে ঘন্টার পর ঘন্টা কথা বললে পাওয়া যাবে?
বর্তমান সময়ে, ব্যক্তিগত চিঠি কেউ লেখে বলে আমার মনে হয়না। এটা অবশ্য গত ২০০৩ সালেই টের পেয়েছিলাম যখন দেখলাম ব্যক্তিগত চিঠির পরিমান দিন দিন কমে যাচ্ছে। তাই তখন কিছু চিঠি সংগ্রহ করে রাখছিলাম ভবিষ্যত প্রজন্মকে দেখানোর জন্য। কিন্তু অনেকদিন রাখার পর দেখলাম এটি আস্তে আস্তে নষ্ট হয়ে যা্চ্ছে। তাই এটি 'ডিজিট্যাল ফরমেটে' কনভার্ট করে সবার জন্য উন্মুক্ত করে দিলাম। চিঠি পড়ে যে কোন মন্তব্য সাদরে গ্রহন যোগ্য হবে।
